My Rally2 4Gb keeps messing up the Outlook .PST file on it, and deletes files & folders every now and then.
I used a 2Gb Sandisk cruzer micro 2 gb for months, with two Outlook .PST files on it, and Cruzersync; syncing software to keep offline copies of Outlook content on a USB stick. I used this stick daily to commute between two work-pcs and one home pc. Never had a problem. I bought a 4Gb Rally2 because of the slow transfer speeds of the Sandisk.
Within one week of using the Rally2, a complete subfolder of the Cruzersync software (which stores the off-line content) was blank. In the following weeks, my PST files were corrupted twice a week on average. I was able to run Scanpst.exe every time, but lately i discovered i have lost at least a few dozens of messages. Not amused...
Last week i ran chkdsk and found lost clusters. Reformatted the drive, put everything back on. Everything seemed fine, until 5 days later. No lost clusters, but a damaged pst file (again), and a damaged .dll in an application on the stick that was running fine last week.
I always deactivate the stick properly before ejecting; something i also always did with my previous sticks.
Considering the moment and number of times the problems started, combined with unaltered use in respect to the Sandisk, the Rally2 must be defective.
Can you give me directions where to go from here?
