My windows 98 system information utility is evidently corrupt, the
icon has changed to disk compression and when you click on it it goes
to disk compression. How can I fix this?
Are you using Windows 98 Second Edition? Do you have a utility such as
Norton Utilities to check for cross-linked files? Have you verified if
your system has no bad sectors?
You can try directly running the system information program by doing
the following:
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type msinfo32
4. Press enter (or click OK)
If that brings up the system information utility then it may not be
corrupt, it may just be a shortcut that needs to be fixed.
Does this method run the program for you?
