Okay, I got my childs "dad" tested through the courts so he could be put on child support. The results came back and he's gonna automatically be put on the birth certificate. He's talking about changing MY babys last name and getting joint custody. MY BABY DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HIM AND HE'S 11 MONTHS!!! I don't want him to have his last name NOR do I want my baby around him nor his family like that b/c I don't trust them and I don't like the way they live (they're ghetto). I'm actually scared for my baby b/c I don't want anything to happen to him. Now, b/c he's on the BC does he have the right to change his last name? He's had my name for the past 11 months and I'm basically all he knows! He wasn't even trying to be around at first. He doesnt have stabile living arrangments. He stays from house to house with whoever and I don't want my baby living like that.
He deserves better! Do you know anything about this matter? If so, please tell me all you know! Like what can I do???
If you want support, then the father gets rights...no way around it, unless you can prove he is unfit. Things like "their ghetto" will not work in court and will actually make you look bad. Depending on the state, it can take quite a bit to get a father seen as unfit.
