  • I live in West Palm Beach Florida area, and I just bought a house with a pool. There are unpleasant Lizards hanging around our pool. How can we get rid of them?

  • Can you describe the lizards? Do you know whether they are geckos?

  • Hello there Unpleasant Lizards hanging around the pool can be a real problem. I found that I can eliminate many of them by preventing them from going into the kitchen refrigerator and insisting that they bring their own beer. You will find there is little real difference between the different types of pool lizards, they both want to scrounge all they can until you put a stop to it. Now as for those other kinds of lizards, the ones I believe you are asking about, there is really no such thing as "lizard control." To keep your lizard population in check, you need to address insects. By having someone treat the foundation and landscape around your buildings, you will keep insect populations down. If you allow insects to thrive around your home, lizards and other undesirable creatures will move in for the free food. (I know I would) By treating around your home these populations will be kept in check. I am presuming your pool is of the swimming variety which means the insects which attract the lizards are in the lawn or landscaping. You may also want to check your pool deck to see if any insects are commonly found there. Some kinds of insects may enjoy "sunning" themselves on the warmth of the decking. The lizards will follow. If your pool is an ornamental one, the standing water itself could be a source of insects which attract the lizards. The variety of lizard is of little importance as most North American lizards are insect eaters regardless of what species they are. The key to reptile control is to remove their food sources. When the food supply is gone, so are they. You will find additional information here - along with most of what I've covered above: "lizard control, Lizard Control, LIZARD CONTROL, lizard control, Lizard Control, LIZARD CONTROL, REPTILE CONTROL, snake control, lizard control, reptile control, newt control, salamander control" http://www.bugspray.com/article/reptiles.html Search Google Terms - lizard control, eliminating lizards If I may clarify anything before you rate the answer, please ask. cheers digsalot

  • Yes, they are mainly geckos, but notice larger ones too

  • Then insect control is the answer. Gekos are definite bug eaters. Cheers digs
